Connecting to the IX

Edge IX Birmingham utilises the Arista platform to provide the capacity, flexibility and resilience needed to support its members. By connecting to Edge IX Birmingham members can exchange traffic directly between one another reducing transit costs.

When connecting your device to the exchange we recommend utilising a layer 3 device where possible and disabling any unnecessary protocols to avoid any unwanted traffic on the Internet Exchange.

The below provides some example configuration that you can utilise but we strongly recommend reviewing your manufacturer best practices.
